Friday Favorites

It has been out of control hot this week – my post about the best sunscreens could not have been more timely! It’s been pretty much a normal week around here – it has really felt like summer, and it’s gotten me so excited for cookouts and picnics and my beach trip! Summer is my favorite season for sure, and I feel a little bit like a kid at the end of the school year – it’s just that sense of excitement, you know?

A rainbow can be seen through a cloudy blue sky.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on my deck, and one night this week I looked up from my dinner to this absolutely spectacular rainbow! Honestly, it was kind of breathtaking – it came out of nowhere and just caught me by surprise. It really was such a highlight of the week!

And with that, on to this week’s favorites.

First Eight Minutes of In The Heights

In The Heights comes out today, both in theaters and on HBO Max! I actually got free tickets to see an early screening this past weekend, and it’s just beautiful – so powerful, and moving, and and explosion of colors and emotions! I think everyone should watch it, but if you’re still undecided, or just want to tide yourself over until you do watch it, they posted the first eight minutes on YouTube!

Cashmere Favorite on Sale

My favorite drape-front cashmere sweater is on MAJOR sale right now. I actually wore in in this Cedar Point post! I know that it’s summer and not really prime cashmere season, but this is such a great deal that you should snag one before the price goes back up! I have the black but picked up the brown while it’s on sale.

History Uncorked Tickets on Sale

I’m really excited (and honored!) to be on the History Uncorked committee this year – it’s an annual party/fundraiser for the History Museum here in Pittsburgh! This year’s event is extra unique because they’re having a mix of virtual and in-person options depending on your comfort level with being out in public. It’s going to be SO fun and if you’re in Pittsburgh, I hope that you come!!

Rattan and Pearl Bag

How adorable is this little rattan handbag dotted with faux pearls?! I just think it’s so cute and summery, and would really dress up any of my sundresses for an evening out. I know that I don’t need it, but I just think it’s so cute!

Interview with Andrea LaVant

This interview with Andrea LaVant, an incredible disability activist who attended the Oscars earlier this year as part of the Crip Camp team, is just incredible. It has a little bit of everything – her life as a disabled woman, her star-studded Oscars experience, and some fashion! Definitely worth a read.
