I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve done a dedicated “outfit” post! I had my Nap Dress Review, but other than that, I’ve been doing a lot of re-wears of summer dresses that I already own. But I saw this maxi dress in a Facebook ad and knew that it was so me that I needed to get it.

In the summer, I always find myself reaching for easy, flowy dresses. I don’t tend to go for dresses that are too tight – I want them to be loose and breezy, so that I don’t feel hot and stick and suffocated. This dress from Banana Republic Factory is absolutely that. It’s a really lightweight, textured cotton fabric, so it feels like nothing when I’m wearing it. And the shape is so amazingly flowy and floaty!

I love the little details, too – the tiers throughout, the crinkle texture of the fabric itself, and the little flutter on the sleeves. They keep the dress from being too plain and boring, and give it just the little something that it needs. I absolutely love this blue color, but it also comes in a really pretty magenta, plus a black and white if you’re looking for something more neutral.
Something to note – this dress definitely verges on being tent-like. If that’s not your style, this isn’t the dress for you! I’m in the XXS, and it’s not too big on me at all, but just a looser fit overall. It’s only available in petite, but because the fit is so oversized and relaxed, if you’re on the border of sizes I think it could still totally work for you!
I think this dress will transition well into the fall, too, with a cardigan and a wrap! It’s definitely a winner for me.
