I know that it’s still early November, which feels early (to me) for a gift guide, but there’s been lots of talk about shipping delays and the need to shop early. So I thought that I’d kick things off with a gift guide of small, Pittsburgh-based businesses. These are the businesses that will most appreciate you shopping early! While these businesses are all Pittsburgh-based, some of the gifts are Pittsburgh-themed while the rest are more generally gift-able.

Rose Soaking Salts // Steel City Salt Company Set // Mr. Rogers Sticky Notes
Folk Art Earrings // Heinz Coasters // Pittsburgh Onesie // Body Butter // Pittsburgh Christmas Card
Coffee Table Book // Mask + Bow Tie // PA Towels // Earrings // PA Ornament
Wire Ornaments // Best Ever Granola // Honey Oatmeal Soap
I’m really lucky to be friends with so many creative people here in Pittsburgh – it made finding local gifts much easier! I’m going to split this into two sections to make it a little bit easier to read.
For The Home
These are all great gifts because they can double as hostess gifts for any holiday gatherings you might be invited to. If you’re looking for a Pittsburgh-themed card, you can’t go wrong with this one. Ornaments are always fun to receive (and to give!) – I love both these wire ones that can be customized, and this ceramic one in the shape of Pennsylvania (with a heart over Pittsburgh). This salt gift set is a new-to-me find from Steel City Salt Company, and would be the perfect gift for a cooking enthusiast. For the person who is a foodie, I love these Heinz Ketchup coasters. (Bonus: You can use the code HEATHERREPORT for 10% off these coasters or anything else on Katie’s site from now until Christmas!)
My aunt makes (by hand!) these soaps and I can personally attest to how incredible the smell, and her body butter is a big hit, too! This tea towel and granola set from “Best Ever Granola” is a great combination. For the person who loves a good soak, these rose soaking salts look so luxurious (and also come in lavender). This coffee table book from Questlove can be bought locally (but still online) from The Tiny Bookstore, who has a whole holiday gift section! And finally, I just think these Mr. Rogers Sticky Notes are so fun and cute.
Clothes, Jewelry, and Accessories
I wear these earrings from Blakbird Jewelry all the time, and think they’d make such a great gift for anyone who is into statement jewelry or loves fashion. For something a little bit smaller, I love the hand-painted folk art design on these earrings made of reclaimed wood. I’ve shared many Knotzland products before, because I love them, but I think this matching mask and bow tie set is so festive and would be perfect for the holidays. Finally, this Pittsburgh onesie is just so adorable that I had to include it!
And if you’re a local and shopping in person, both Moxie Boutique and Vintage to Vogue came highly recommended, but they sadly don’t have online shopping options.
