Velvet Dresses

I have loved velvet dresses since I was very young – I always got a “Christmas dress” each year, and most of them were velvet! Something about velvet just feels so festive. So when Hill House launched a velvet Nap Dress, I was very excited. I’m rounding up that dress and some other very cute velvet options!

A collage of velvet dresses: emerald green smocked Ellie Nap Dress, black with silver polka dots smocked peplum dress, blue puff sleeve shift dress, royal blue mini dress with embroidered bodice, deep red mini dress with smocked top, and burnt orange v-neck maxi dress.

First, the dress that revitalized my love of velvet – the Nap Dress. In person, the color looks even richer and more beautiful, and I love how silky the fabric is – it’s not heavy at all. It’s taking everything in me not to buy it in burgundy, too!

Free People has some really pretty velvet mini dress options – this royal blue swingy dress with an embroidered top and flowy sleeves, and this deep red one with a smocked top and big bow that ties in the back. If you’re looking for something a bit simpler, this blue velvet shift dress is a great option that could be worn all the time.

I love the details on this black dress – the smocked top, the peplum ruffle, and the polka dots! And finally, this maxi dress version is so beautiful – the color is stunning, and I love the v-neck, too.
