I have been in a major clothing rut lately – wearing lots of the same sweaters over and always reaching for the comfiest things in my closet. But I’ve been itching to get dressed up again! When I was doing some online browsing and came across this green smocked polka dotted dress, I knew that it was exactly what I was looking for.

There’s something about a patterned dress that makes me feel super put together, even though it actually takes less effort than “putting together” an outfit. And this dress feels like a complete outfit in one piece! It’s got so many different things I love – a pretty green, a polka dot print, a smocked top, and sleeves.
I have always loved polka dots – it’s a simple print that adds a little bit of interest without being too busy or loud. I sometimes worry that they can look too young, but that’s not an all an issue with this dress. I love that it’s a green-on-green print – the two tones are sophisticated but fun.

And the smocking!! I love a dress with smocking, but I don’t usually see it paired with a v-neck, which makes this interesting. Only the front half around the chest is smocked, which gives it just enough stretch to make it super flattering. The v-neck is a bit of a plunge, so be warned, but it’s nothing too much – you can definitely still wear a bra with it.
And the best part of all – at just under $50, this dress is incredibly affordable.
The shoes (as usual!) are from Sarah Flint. You can use SARAHFLINT-BAHEATHERREPORT for $50 off your first pair!
