Friday Favorites

I’m so, so glad it’s Friday. It’s been a week – I had a blog post scheduled for yesterday, but had some technical issues and didn’t realize it until late in the day, so I pushed the post to next week. It’s just been one of those weeks! But in spite of that, I have been loving the spring weather. I knew that I’d been cooped up, but I kind of forgot what a difference the weather makes for my mood and attitude. I have some work to do this weekend – have to work on my Humanities Festival talk! – but I’m looking forward to being able to do some of it from my patio.

Now on to the favorites.

New Hill House Collection

Hill House released their new Nap Dress collection this week, and I’m so excited to get to try out one of the shorter Nap Dresses (the Elizabeth). I think it’ll be so perfect for summer! I got the blue kaleidoscope print – I see it as early 2000s Limited Too inspired but in the best possible way.. It’s such a fun print!

On Success Later in Life

I really like this roundup of women talking about achieving their success later in life. There’s so much emphasis on doing big things before a certain age (30 under 30, 40 under 40), and those people are amazing, but there’s something to be said for lived experience! It’s also just a great reminder that life isn’t “over” at any specific age.

Encantix

This spoof of a pharmaceutical commercial starring Lin-Manuel Miranda on Jimmy Kimmel Live just made me laugh. They’re not wrong – We Don’t Talk About Bruno really is addicting!!

Tiered Sundress

I included this dress in my Wednesday Wishlist, but I ended up liking it so much that I did buy it for myself! I just think it’ll be the perfect easy summer dress to throw on and go. PLUS, it’s an extra 25% off with the code SHOPSPRING, making it less than $40. A steal!

In Real Life by Mandy Moore

I have loved Mandy Moore for years – my college best friend and I actually bonded over our mutual love of her movies! I love this new song – both the song itself, and the music video, which is so fun and has amazing, non-cliche disabled representation. I also just bought tickets to her concert here over the summer, so I’m just all in on her right now!
