Happy April! This has been an exhausting last week or two of March for me – lots of very fun, very cool things, but I am tired! I’m really looking forward to laying low this weekend. Reading, watching some TV, and just relaxing. I don’t know if any of you feel this way, but I feel like March being over is something to celebrate in and of itself. Onward!
My session at the Cultural Trust’s Pittsburgh Humanities Festival was this past weekend. It went really well, and the best part was the friends and family who came and supported me. It meant so much!!

And now, this week’s favorites.
Interrupted, Again by Suleika Jaouad
Suleika Jaouad’s memoir Between Two Kingdoms was one of the absolute best books that I read last year. She recently shared that the leukemia she was diagnosed with years ago had returned. She shared her experiences with her first diagnosis with The New York Times back in 2012, and is talking again with the paper about her recurrence.
The Sandals of the Summer
I know it’s only April BUT I think these Sarah Flint new releases should officially be dubbed the sandals of the summer. How cute do they look?! They have some neutral colors (black, tan), but I especially love this super pretty shade of blue. They’re just perfect!
Don’t forget! Use SARAHFLINT-BAHEATHERREPORT for $50 off your first pair of Sarah Flints.
Troy Kotsur’s Oscar Win
I was so happy to see CODA win at the Oscars, and thought that Troy Kotsur’s win was especially well-deserved. I also thought that his acceptance speech was so powerful and moving – sharing about his dad, talking about visiting the White House, and thanking the theater spaces that helped him get where he is today. It just made me really happy. (I do want to note, though, that not everyone in the D/deaf and hard-of-hearing/disabled/CODA community loved the movie – this article is a good explanation.)
Sephora Spring Savings Event
The Sephora Spring Sale starts for Rouge members today, and will open to VIB members next week. I’ll have a longer post up then, but if you’re shopping today, my very top pick is the GrandeLash serum. I’ve been using it for almost two years now and it just WORKS. And since it’s pricey, stocking up during a sale is a great idea.
