I posted a “day to night” reel with my favorite Sarah Flint shoes on Instagram last week, and I loved it so much that I wanted to write a post about it, too. I basically live in dresses and my Sarah Flint shoes all summer long – just scroll through my Instagram for proof – and this is a fun way to style the same dress for day and night but switch up the shoes and accessories.
If you’ve read any of my posts lately, you know how obsessed I am with all things smocking! This linen smocked dress is great – linen means that the black won’t be too hot, but black means that the dress will work now and even in a month or two! It’s the perfect dress for a day-to-night transformation because it’s simple enough on its own that you can dress it up or down with accessories. It’s chic and versatile, too.
For daytime accessories, I love this mini straw tote. There’s nothing more summery to be than a straw bag, and I love the mini size and the handles of this one. Even though it’s mini, it’s actually pretty roomy – I have a very similar one from last year, and it fits so much! Of course, you need a pair of sunglasses during the day. I’ve bought so many pairs of Le Specs now, because they’re great quality for the under $100 price point. These are big without totally taking over your face, which I love.
And finally – the shoes! These saddle brown Sarah Flint Natalie flats are great. I have a post with a review of them – in my opinion, they’re just the perfect flat. They look so chic and sophisticated, but work equally well with a linen sundress like this or a pair of jeans. And they’re comfortable enough to wear all day, even in the summer heat, with no problem! My feet swell really easily and I don’t have any issues with these at all.
To change things up a bit for nighttime, we stick with the same dress, but swap out the accessories. I love a good statement earring to dress things up, and how pretty are these?! I love the subtle shine from the gold posts and the mother of pearl part, too. I think this black back is perfect for a nighttime swap, too. I think the bow accent on the top is so cute, and the mini size and black leather look so stylish. Plus, there’s a crossbody chain too, if that’s more your thing.
And the shoes! I can’t wear heels like this with my ankles, so I really need one of you to buy them so I can live vicariously through you! I think these platform sandals are absolutely perfect. I love the shiny gold metallic leather, I love the little knot / bow detail near the toes, and love the subtle shimmer in the raffia at the bottom. They’re dressy while still being a great summer sandal – and because they’re Sarah Flint, you know they’re comfortable, too.
