August was honestly such a complete blur for me. Between traveling to Charleston and then coming back to what feels like the end of summer, the days just really flew by. But here are my favorites from the past month.

Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm
I have a review about this already, but it was a huge favorite for August, especially in Charleston! It was incredibly hot and humid, and I really credit this blurring balm with helping my foundation last all day and with keeping my skin from getting too greasy. It’s so easy to use and a little goes a very long way.
Hitting 5K on Instagram
I know that compared to some bigger names out there, 5K on Instagram is relatively small. But it was a huge milestone for me to hit, and sometimes I still kind of can’t believe that there are 5,000 people who are interested in what I’m sharing online! I’m beyond grateful to each and every one of you – I don’t even have the right words to express it.
JVN Hair Air Dry Cream
Another product that saved me in Charleston! Because the shower situation in our VRBO was not the most wheelchair-friendly (which I knew ahead of time!), I wanted my hair to last as long as possible while I was there. So I had Drybar French braid my hair while it was still wet, and then took the braids out a day later once my hair had dried. I credit this Air Dry Cream with the post-braid waves lasting for as many days as they did! It helped revive the waves each day when I re-applied, and my hair still didn’t feel crunchy. And the waves withstood the humidity, too, which is no easy feat!
Brass Lucky Cricket
Grace shared this cricket a few weeks ago, and I instantly bought it for one of my friends as a housewarming gift. It’s so cute and just a little bit different, but in the good, unique way. It’s a perfect housewarming gift – or a new job gift, for that matter – because it’s meant to bring luck. And because I’m a Disney fan, it reminds me of the line in Mulan that goes “Add a cricket, just for luck… and even you can’t blow it!”
Catching Up with Friends
A lot of August felt like it absolutely flew by, and it was pretty busy for me, too! But there were some great times thrown in where I got to catch up with lots of different friends. I got to (finally) meet Grace in Charleston, got to celebrate a friend’s engagement and another friend’s housewarming – her moving back to Pittsburgh meant that a group of us who have been friends since elementary school are all back to living in the same city again, and that’s really special. And I celebrated another friend’s birthday, too! So much laughter and catching up – a definite August favorite.
