I know that I say this at the beginning of every month, but I do not understand how it’s already September! I feel like I just got back from my trip to Charleston and somehow that was already almost a month ago. While summer is definitely my favorite season, September is the month of my birthday, so it’s a pretty good month in my book.
I’m also really looking forward to being off on Monday for Labor Day. All week I kept forgetting that Monday was Labor Day, so once I remembered and it actually stuck, it made me even more excited. I have some dinner plans with friends, and then lots and lots of relaxing. I hope you all get to enjoy your weekends, too!
And with that, on to the favorites.

My Interview on WESA
This was an exciting week because I got to talk to the local NPR station, WESA, about the current healthcare crisis and how it’s impacting disabled people. I’m so glad that they chose to do a full show on the current state of healthcare, and really honored that they asked me to join them to share a little bit about what I’m going through right now. The whole show is about a half hour long – my part is the first 5 to 10 minutes or so!
Dotted Midi Dress
I’m going to do a whole Labor Day sale roundup on Monday, but Madewell has 30% off fall favorites right now with the code LONGWEEKEND. I especially love this smocked (of course) polka dotted midi dress with a fun open back that’s perfect for fall!
My Guest Interview on the Friends on Air Podcast
It was a big week for me, media wise! Earlier in the summer I recorded with the Friends on Air podcast, and it went live this week. You can listen to my episode to hear me talk about how powerful social media can be in terms of creating connections and communities – and hear me talk about my pink-and-purple Barbie wheelchair, too!
Tabletop Solo Stove
Okay, I’m so excited – I loooove our Solo Stove (I wrote a review in this post) so much, so of course when I saw they were coming out with a mini tabletop version, I had to get it. I can’t wait to put it in front of me on the patio table while I’m reading in October and have absolutely perfect fall vibes. It’s $40 off right now because it’s new, making it under $100!
