Even though I have been blogging for five years now, I still struggle to figure out what to share in real-time. Sometimes it’s hard to talk about things while I’m still actively in the midst of them – I’m focused on just getting through, not sitting back and reflecting. All of this is to say that I’ve been dealing with some health issues that have made my energy take an absolute nose dive. I’ve been physically exhausted a lot of the time, which is also making me feel mentally and emotionally exhausted a lot of the time, too. So I figured there couldn’t be a better time for me to sit down and write a gratitude list, because frankly, I’m feeling pretty un-grateful right about now.

My Bed
I am so grateful for my incredibly comfy bed right now. I think I mentioned that I got a Sleep Number bed with an adjustable frame a few months ago (I’ll have a full review up in the future!), and it is one of my favorite things right now. If I have to be exhausted all the time, at least I can be incredibly comfortable while I’m in my bed. Turning on the foot warmer and getting all cozy? Heaven!
Understanding Friends and Coworkers
I’ve had to cancel or drastically downscale quite a few plans recently, sometimes at the last minute, because it’s just so hard for me to know how I’m going to be feeling at any given time. Having friends and coworkers that get it and remind me that my health absolutely should come first is something that I’m incredibly thankful for.
The Vampire Diaries
I joke that you can tell how I’m feeling based on how I’m spending my free time. If I’m feeling pretty good, I’ll gravitate more towards reading and can make it through book after book. But when I’m not feeling so great – whether physically or mentally – I am much more likely to choose a TV series to stream from beginning to end. This time, it was The Vampire Diaries – it seemed appropriate to ring in fall with a scary-adjacent show.
My Chappywrap
Again – if I have to spend more time in bed right now, at least I get to be cozy while I’m doing it. My Chappywrap is my favorite blanket, and makes me feel all comfy and relaxed when I’m laying under it – never too hot, but just nice and warm. I have quite a collection now and am grateful for the comfort from each and every one.
My Nintendo Switch
My sister and I “split” a Switch way back in 2020, but I’m pretty sure I get the most use out of it, by far. I’m not really a huge gamer, but sometimes I get the itch to play something. I downloaded a new game over the weekend – Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, which is kind of like a combination of Animal Crossing and a more tradition game with quests – and have been having fun playing ever since. Just like streaming a show, it’s nice to be able to get lost in a game and take my mind of my own life for a bit!
