Life Lately, September 2022

Looking back over this last month is a little bit of a ride – I felt pretty decent in the beginning of the month, and was actually pretty busy! Then when I started to feel extra exhausted, I started doing a whole lot less, very quickly! So it’s a little bit strange for me to look back and see everything that I did earlier in the month.

First up was celebrating a friend’s birthday and trying out a new Pittsburgh spot downtown, Sally Ann’s. It was so cute – we had a great time on the outdoor patio area, with delicious drinks and snacks. Everything was seriously so good, and the vibes were great. It would make a perfect post-work happy hour spot!

Then it was time to celebrate my birthday! I had the best dinner at Senti, one of my favorite Pittsburgh restaurants, with my friends. I’ve known these women since elementary and middle school, and I feel so lucky to still be friends with them today. We might not see each other all the time now that we’re grown up and have busy lives, but when we get together to catch up it’s like no time at all has passed. It was just the perfect way to celebrate.

My actual birthday fell on a Wednesday, so I worked like normal in the morning, but took the afternoon off to go to Drybar and get a blowout just because. It felt nice to do something just for fun, and WOW, it turned out so beautifully! I was just a little bit sad that I didn’t have anywhere else to go and show it off.

I also went to the Family House Polo Match again this year! I’m friends with the MC of the event for the past two years now, and she’s been kind enough to invite me to join her at the event! It’s really so much fun – there’s food to eat and drinks to drink, booths to browse and do some shopping, a photobooth, and, of course, the polo match itself. This year I got to say hello to some of the horses, which was an absolute blast and made me so happy! It’s just an incredible event and raises money for a really good cause – Family House gives people a place to stay when a family member is going through medical treatment for an extended period of time.

And we end with the much more laid-back part of my month. I am sparing you the pictures of me, in bed, watching TV, but will leave you with the little fire we had this past weekend. It was the perfect way to relax on a crisp fall Saturday night.
