I still have a very low-key Thanksgiving celebration planned for this year, so the jury is out on whether I go for some sort of festive outfit, or just reach for some comfy lounge wear instead. But if you have plans of some sort – dressy or casual – I’ve pulled together a few different outfit ideas.

Green Suede Top // Flats // Faux Leather Leggings
Even when I did go to a larger, extended family Thanksgiving gathering, it was pretty laid back and casual, which is exactly what this look is to me. You really can’t go wrong with faux leather leggings – they look cute, but they’re so comfy (and don’t have a real waistband, which is especially great). I love the contrast of textures by pairing it with this loose suede top in a festive green. And these green flats with the perfect tortoise cap toe are just the right addition to the outfit! The whole thing looks polished but is actually deceptively flowy and comfy.

Tartan Dress // Stretch Navy Boots // Crossbody Bag
I love the mix of dressy and laid back that this outfit has! It’s a little more matchy-matchy than I’d typically be into, but I think something about it just works. A tartan plaid dress is always appropriate for Thanksgiving, and the shape and colors of this one keep it from looking too formal and dressed up. I love pairing it with these tall stretchy boots. The flat heel keeps them on the casual side, and I love the unexpected navy blue suede rather than the more typical black – it works so well with the colors in the tartan. And this deep green crossbody bag ties the outfit together perfectly.

Pleated Dress // Velvet Blazer // Mary Jane Heels
If you go all out for Thanksgiving (or if you’re looking for something to wear for any holiday party), I think that this is so perfect. It’s chic and dressy while still being fun. I love this green pleated dress – it’s dressy but still flowy and not too formal. The shape is ideal for something that’s more formal but still a holiday centered around eating! And I love it paired with this black velvet blazer – it gives the outfit the contrast it needs to keep it from being too much like something you’d wear to a cocktail party or gala. And finally – since the dress and blazer are both solids, you can play around with a print in the shoes and go with these Grace Atwood x Sarah Flint Mary Jane pumps! Again – the print adds in just the right amount of fun to the whole outfit.
