Dressing for the holidays is one of my favorite things to do – it’s the excuse I never need to pull out all my velvet, sequins, and metallics! Not that I don’t wear these things year-round, honestly, but there’s something extra fun about wearing them to holiday parties and get togethers. So today I’m sharing some inspiration for holiday outfit dressing!

Crystal Bow Flat // Black and Gold Dress // Silver Bag
Red Sequin Dress // Heart Dangle Earrings // Feather Bag // Green Blazer
Black and Silver Top // Gunmetal Lame Flats // Black Pleated Skirt
Velvet Nap Dress // Silver Pleated Skirt // Metallic Sweater
Metallic Earrings // Green Crossbody
Bring on all the shiny and sparkly things! This metallic sweater is a perfect way to add a subtle bit of sparkle and shine to your look, but still in a casual way. It would look equally cute with a pair of black pants or jeans as it would with this black pleated skirt. You could even do an on-trend, monochromatic look and pair it with this pleated silver skirt, too! I love this silver and black shell because it too is versatile and can be dressed up or down. It would work with the same black pleated skirt for something dressier, or with simple black pants too. And if you’re not a sparkle and shine person, this green blazer is a subtle, festive nod that can be layered on top of any look you already have.
I am always a fan of dresses, and there are some really fun holiday party dress options! The velvet Nap Dress is the perfect option for something that can be worn beyond the holiday season – velvet is more of a winter thing than a holiday-specific one! For something with some shine, I love this black and gold metallic dress from J.Crew – in my opinion, it’s just the right amount of shimmer. And of course – you can’t go wrong with sequins! This red sequin dress is just perfect, and comes in silver, too.
It’s also fun to add a little something extra with your accessories. I love this silver mini tote bag – the metallic sheen dresses it up, but the shape keeps it from being too cocktail / formal. This green crossbody is a great option, too – it will work with so many holiday (and beyond!) looks. I am obsessed with the fluffy, fun (faux) feathers on this bag with a looped closure – it’s just so different and adds such a fun splash! These heart dangle earrings are so pretty, and I love the mix of silver and gold in this pair.
And of course – shoes! These black flats with a crystal bow detail are classics with just a little added sparkle, and they’re affordable, too. If you’re in the market for a little more of an investment shoe, you cannot go wrong with these gunmetal flats from Sarah Flint! They are so comfortable and the all over shimmer is so beautiful.
