Friday Favorites

The temperatures are dropping today and tonight, and I am following my own advice and fully leaning into cozy mode this weekend! I’ll be staying home and staying warm – lighting one of my favorite candles, snuggling under my favorite blanket, and maybe even staying in PJs all day, we’ll see!

And now, this week’s favorites.

Central Places by Delia Cai

I got an ARC of Central Places last year and really loved it – it was (finally!) published earlier this week! It was one of my favorites books that I read in 2022 – it’s a coming home and coming-of-age story, and even if you didn’t go through the same experiences that the character does, it still feels so relatable. I highly recommend reading it!

Interview with the Washington Post‘s first Accessibility Engineer

I loved this interview with Holden Foreman, the first ever accessibility engineer at The Washington Post. I love reading about his views on accessibility, and his hopes for the role! It seems like he’s really passionate about going beyond the bare minimum and really embracing accessibility in a holistic way. It’s so encouraging to read.

Smocked Midi Dress

This smocked midi dress in a floral block print from J.Crew Factory is so cute, and would be perfect for spring. It’s currently under $100, which is great, and if you spend $125 of more, you can use the code NEW4YOU for an extra 20% off!

The New Etiquette Rules

I didn’t agree with every single one of these “new etiquette” rules, but I did love how direct and forthcoming they were! I love a little bit of brutal honesty, and that’s what these rules feel like. I especially agree with rule 22 – “If you’re real friends, you accommodate the most COVID-careful among you.”
