Sephora Holiday Sale

It’s that time again – the Sephora Holiday Sale is here. It started on Friday for Rouge members, opens today for VIB and Beauty Insiders. Rouge members get 20% off, VIB members get 15% off, and Beauty Insiders get 10% off – all with code TIMETOSAVE, which you can use multiple times during the sale, which ends on 11/6. The code TIMETOSAVE also gets you 30% off all Sephora brand products.

I’m going to go through and share all of my favorites today – skincare and haircare, makeup, and tools, too! It’s going to be a longer post, but I want to be able to talk about all my favorites.

Skincare Favorites

I love Drunk Elephant products a lot – they’re effective and non-irritating. This chemical exfoliant of theirs is something that I’ve been using for years, and this gel moisturizer is a great option for those of us with oily or combination skin who don’t want something too heavy. Biossance is another brand I love – I use this exfoliating toner every morning; I love that it has BHAs but also squalane to add some moisture back, too. The copper peptide serum is lightweight and just really helps brighten your face. And the resurfacing night serum is great for using once or twice a week as a more heavy-duty exfoliating treatment.

Paula’s Choice makes products that are both effective and affordable. I use this toner every night to add a little moisture back into my skin after cleansing. Their BHA is a cult favorite and so well-loved, too. I recently started using the Fresh Soy cleanser – it’s nice and gentle, and doesn’t leave my face feeling too stripped after I use it.

I’m forever in search of the best vitamin c serum out there. I picked up this one from Dr. Dennis Gross as part of my own Sephora Holiday Sale shopping, and it hasn’t irritated my skin or stained my fingers orange yet, so it’s off to a good start. I also want to try this one from Paula’s Choice, which I’ve heard great things about.

And of course, I can’t forget the GrandeLash eyelash serum. I have been using this for over two years now, and have no plans to stop. Now that I’ve been using it for so long, I only need it every other night, which helps with the cost. There is a noticeable difference in my eyelashes ever since I started using it.

Body Care and Haircare Favorites

Necessaire makes some of my favorite body care products. I use their body wash regularly – it smells so good, and it feels so nice and silky and lathers up so well. Their body serum is also one of my favorite products – it’s nice and lightweight, and sinks in to your skin so well. I’m not really a big body lotion person, so this is a great alternative. Another lotion alternative I love is this Strivectin roll-on neck serum! I have a whole Accidentally Adaptive post about it – it’s so easy to apply with the little roller, which is great for me.

I have been using the Kosas Chemistry roll-on deodorant for a few years now, and I genuinely think it works. It’s the only “natural” deodorant that has ever worked for me. It’s not an anti-perspirant, so it doesn’t keep you from sweating, but it does work against the odor.

For hair, I love this Briogeo scalp shampoo – I use it once of twice a week, and it’s a great way to gently exfoliate and get rid of any build up of products, oil, or flakes on your scalp. The JVN Air Dry Cream is great for taming frizz and setting waves or curls – I love to use it to “set” the waves that come from French braiding my hair while it’s wet. And the styling milk is what I use for everyday styling, to help keep it frizz free without adding extra weight or greasiness.

Makeup Favorites

Fenty’s foundation has quickly become my go-to – I love that I can sheer it out for lighter coverage, or add a little more for medium to full, and it never gets cakey on my skin. Plus, even with my oily skin, it really does last all day. I also love the Poutsicle lip stains – you apply, leave on for about two minutes, and then wipe off the excess. It leaves your lips with a really nice, subtle stain. The Rare Beauty lip oils are another great option – they start out a little glossier, but settle down into a more subtle stain, too. And I’ve been wearing the Nars tinted lip balms for years and love that you can apply without a mirror and know that you’re going to look great.

I mentioned last week that I’ve been loving cream blushes lately. I actually picked up another shade of this liquid blush from Saie myself, and this slightly sheerer one from Caliray is a great option, too. The Charlotte Tilbury beauty wand is a matte blush that you dot on with the attached sponge – it’s definitely the most pigmented of the three.

This mascara from Lancome makes my lashes look fuller and longer, and lasts all day but isn’t hard to remove, either. I’d never tried a tubing mascara before, but this one from Caliray has one I’ve been trying out lately! It leaves absolutely zero smudges on my eyelid, and makes my lashes look unbelievably long, too.

Glossier has made doing my brows incredibly simple. Their brow gel is perfect for a subtle brow look that adds a little tint and a little more “fluff” but is still perfect for a daily look. If I want to take it up just a notch, I put on their Brow Slick beforehand – it’s super easy to use, and draws on the tiniest flicks that keeps your brows looking realistic.

I am not really an expert when it comes to eyeshadow – I like to stick with something fairly simple. These Bobbi Brown cream shadow sticks are what I end up reaching for almost every time I wear eyeshadow. It’s so easy to apply – it’s basically like a crayon, you can just draw it on, and then smudge with your fingers or with a brush – and it lasts all day. I have used and like the Laura Mercier version, too.

Favorite Tools

I have two big favorites here. The first is the Shark FlexStyle. I bought it earlier this year from the Sephora sale, and I am really obsessed. Whether I’m going for a smooth, straight look, or more blown out and bouncy, it makes me hair look like I got it styled professionally. I still kind of can’t believe how well it works.

The other is the Foreo Luna face cleanser. I use it every single time I was my face – the silicone nubs are enough to give my face a nice, deep cleanse and really get into my pores, but aren’t so rough that they irritate my skin at all. I even take it with my when I travel because I think it’s that important for my skin.

And if you’re looking for a blow dryer but want a straightforward one, you can’t go wrong with a T3. I used one loyally for over 10 years, and genuinely think that it’s the best blow dryer out there. It cuts drying time but is gentle enough that it doesn’t over heat and fry your hair.
