It’s that time of year again! I’m going to be sharing gift guides weekly until mid-December. I’ll have a variety of themes and price points, but every year I like to start my gift guides by sharing gifts from Pittsburgh small businesses. Most of these are businesses that I know and love, though a handful are new to me. These are all great businesses with some very cute gift options!

Santal Candle // Tal & Bert
I am a sucker for anything santal scented, and this candle vessel is absolutely stunning. Gifting candles is always a popular choice, but this is so beautiful it’s basically a piece of decor, as well! It would be so easy for the recipient to empty and reuse the vessel once the candle has been used up.
Bow Tie // Knotzland
I have been raving about Knotzland for years! They take fabric scraps and totally reinvent them into these wearable art bow ties. Since they’re all made from scraps, each is slightly different and unique, which is so cool. This one would be fitting for holiday events for the men in your life.
White Pine and Vetiver Candle // Chez Lapin
Vetiver is another one of my favorite scents, and the white pine addition makes it a perfect holiday candle. Plus, not only is Chez Lapin eco-conscious, they also donate a portion of every sale to bunny rescue! It’d be a perfect gift for any animal lover.
Small Lace Bowl // Emmanuelle Ceramics
I love the detailing on this lace bowl – it’s so intricate! I know it’s technically able to be used as dinnerware, but it’s also perfect as a decorative platter or catchall, which is great to gift. There are other color options available, too.
Salt, Olive Oil, and Vinegar // Songbird Artistry
Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that are edible. I love this salt, olive oil, and vinegar sets being sold together. You get to choose the flavors of each so you can realize personalize the trio to anyone’s taste. And of course, the salt, olive oil, and vinegar are all from local businesses too.
Butterfly Coasters // Katie Koenig Art
Katie is one of my good friends, so maybe I’m biased, but I am in awe of her talent. Most of her original pieces are out of your standard gift-giving price range (though if you’re looking for a big ticket item, I can’t recommend more highly!) but this set of two coasters with her butterfly on them are the perfect more affordable option.
Catalpa Earrings // Blakbird Jewelry
I own these earrings and get SO many compliments every time I wear them! The design is simple enough that I think they’re giftable, but bold enough that they still make a statement. I love all of Blakbird’s designs, honestly!
Silver Sphere Studs // Skelton Jewelry
These geometric spherical studs from Skelton Jewelry are so cool – I love that they’re 3D, rather than flat. They come in both small and large options, and are so fun. Skelton is where I got my permanent bracelet done, and I was browsing their showroom afterwards – everything was truly gorgeous.
Flower Hoops // Jenna Vanden Brink Ceramics
One more pair of earrings! These are hoops that have handmade ceramic flowers hanging down from them. There are a few different color options, but this dark teal is so stunning! I just love the mix of materials and how delicate yet statement-making they are.
Fiction Favs // White Whale Bookstore
The White Whale has put together a few different book gift boxes that are perfect for the readers in your life. I trust their recommendations implicitly, so you can feel confident that whoever you gift this to will be impressed with your taste!
Home Set // Love, Pittsburgh
I think this “home” themed set from Love, Pittsburgh is just the right subtle nod to the Burgh without screaming in black and gold! I love this little set of Pittsburgh-themed products from Pittsburgh small business. It would be perfect for someone who moved away… or someone who just really loves this city a lot!
Wire Bookmark // Wire Creations by Jules
My good friend Julie makes these super unique wire bookmarks that are another great gift option for readers! They’re customizable, too – you can choose the wire color, and get to pick what the bookmark spells out, whether it’s a name or a little phrase.
