Gratitude List, November 2023

Is there a more appropriate day than today to share a gratitude list? Probably not! So without further ado, I’m sharing the things I’m feeling most grateful for right now.

A Low Key Thanksgiving

Before COVID, I used to celebrate Thanksgiving by having a big meal with lots of extended family on my dad’s side – it typically ended up being between 20 and 30 people. But now we do it a lot more low key, and this year it’s just me, my sister, and my parents. It’s nice to have a calm, stress free day rather than a hectic one!

New Book Friends

I joined a new virtual book club and went to my first (Zoom) meeting last weekend! I love getting new and different book recommendations and making new book friends, too. It’s something small, but making new connections as an adult is hard! Being able to make new friends online is a little logistically easier for me, and I love that I’m able to do it.

A Few Days Off

Life has just felt busy and overwhelming recently – I don’t even think I’ve had that many plans, but it just feels like there’s never enough time to do everything I want to do in a day! So I’m very appreciative to have a few days off around Thanksgiving to try to get a little more of a handle on things and not feel like I’m constantly behind.

The Deer Visiting

Now that temperatures are dropping, we’ve had the deer stop by a few times looking for a snack! It’s just wild to look up from the window by my desk and see five or six or seven of them just hanging out in the backyard. Sometimes, if it’s not too cold, I’ll go out on the patio for a few minutes and just… watch them. Never stops feeling magical.
