Friday Favorites

We had such a beautiful week here – I spent so much time outside, taking my laptop out to the patio to work and then later, reading outside for a bit too. It’s just so nice to be able to really enjoy the patio again! It was a pretty low-key week otherwise, though. I have tickets to see the play The Kite Runner this weekend, which I’m looking forward to, but otherwise just taking it easy. I’m trying to get a little bit ahead on blog work so that I’m not always finishing the next day’s post the night before, but we’ll see what actually ends up happening! Anyway, on to this week’s favorites.

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune

I’ve loved all of Carley’s books, but this one was extra magical to me. It’s set on Price Edward Island, where Lucy goes to meet her friend Bridget… but before Bridget arrives, Lucy meets Bridget’s brother Felix. After sharing a night together, the two realize their connection to Bridget, and promise to never repeat that night. But both of them keep finding it very hard to keep their promise! This book is full of Anne of Green Gables references, and those books meant so much to me when I was younger (and honestly, they still do today!). Reading it brought me back to the magic of Anne and Avonlea in a new way, and I loved it so much.

Nap Dress Summer

Hill House released their new collection this week – Nap Dress Summer is officially here! I picked up the mini Seraphina in the dark, moody floral – short dresses work so well on me, and I’m really excited for the adjustable straps. I also love this Ellie in the trellis with bows, and this Margot in the prettiest chevron stripe. And if I had a wedding to go to this summer, I’d definitely be picking up this Elise dress in the most gorgeous light blue organza fabric.

When the weather starts to warm up, I always struggle a bit with figuring out what I want for dinners – some of my go-tos feel too heavy for spring and summer! But this creamy pasta seems like it would be so tasty, and I love how easy it would be to swap out asparagus for whatever veggies you have on hand.

The Idea of You

I wasn’t the hugest fan of The Idea of You as a book, but as a movie? I loved it! If you’re looking for a super faithful adaptation, this isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for a fun romance that’s based on the idea of the book (pun intended!), you’ll love this. Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galatzine are both incredible in it – I wish I had Anne’s entire wardrobe from the movie! I’m already ready to watch it again.

Lululemon for Team Canada

Lululemon designed some of the looks for the Olympians and Paralympians of Team Canada, and I love to see that they included some adaptive options for the collection! And even better, they worked alongside the athletes to design the collection, making sure to listen to their feedback and insights about what was needed. I only wish that you could buy the adaptive options online alongside the rest of the collection – and I hope we see more countries doing this in the future!

Met Gala Looks

I was glued to my computer screen on Monday evening, watching as all the celebrities arrived at the carpet for the Met Gala. While I still think the infamous “Met Steps” are a giant sign of inaccessibility to me, I still love to watch and see all the fashion. You can view everyone’s looks here – I think Zendaya’s (both of them!) were my favorite.
