May 2024 Favorites

May flew by so quickly! Each time I write a favorites post I get the chance to mentally go over and reflect on the last month, and wow, May was busy. This month’s favorites came to me super quickly and easily – it was just a fun month full of great things.

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune

I think this is now the third time I’m writing about this book, but I couldn’t not include it in my May favorites. Once I picked this up I could not put it down – it made me (metaphorically) kick my heels and squeal, but also gave me that delicious slow burn and tension that I love. And it made me want to visit PEI, and pour myself a glass of vinho verde, and have some oysters, and hunt down one of the wool blankets mentioned in the book! If you’re an Anne of Green Gables fan like me, I definitely recommend this one. It’s just perfect.

My friend picked this up for me when she was in Charleston earlier this year (thank you, Katie!), and I immediately hunted down their website. It’s so cool – it’s a little pouch that’s made of “washable paper!” I love how sustainable it is, and it doesn’t feel like paper at all – it’s seriously the coolest thing. It’s technically a key pouch, but I love using it to keep my lip glosses (and my Tide pen) together in my bag!

Earlybird CBD Gummies

I have not been great about sticking to consistent sleep habits lately. It’s a combination of burn out, trying to do too much, and then wanting to make sure I get time off, too… and it results in a sleep schedule that is just all over the place. But these Earlybird gummies are my go-to right now, because they make sure that I fall asleep quickly and easily no matter what time it is when I’m ready for bed, and that my sleep is peaceful and restful, too.

Positano Hotel Lobby Candle

It’s summer, so I’ve put back my “deeper” candle scents, and pulled out my spring/summer ones, like Hotel Lobby Candle’s Positano scent! It’s a little bit floral, a little bit citrus, a little bit amber… they all come together in the perfect summery scent to me. It actually kind of reminds me of an updated, more luxe take on my favorite Calgon body spray from when I was in middle school!

Seraphina Mini Nap Dress

I picked up this new style of Nap Dress during Hill House’s summer drop, and I’m obsessed. I love the dark, moody floral print, I love the adjustable spaghetti straps, and the extra ruffle on the skirt. I already know I’m going to be reaching for it alllll the time this summer! It’s honestly a perfect wheelchair / seated style.

Warhol Gala

Of course, it wouldn’t be a May favorites post without a mention of the Warhol Gala! Of course, I loved my outfit – the dress was basically a work of art itself, and I’m already trying to figure out where else I can wear it – but the entire night was just amazing. I love being able to celebrate the Warhol Museum’s legacy and impact in Pittsburgh, and the rich arts culture in the city!
