Friday Favorites

I’m really glad it’s Friday – the week after a trip always feels a little hectic, like I’m trying to catch up on work and everything I missed, and get back into a somewhat-regular routine. I think I’m mostly back on track, and looking forward to feeling a little more settled over the weekend and next week. I don’t have any more travel planned for the summer, so I’m excited to have July and August to just be here and enjoy!

On to this week’s favorites.

Have you been following along as The New York Times unveils their best 100 books of the century list? I feel like everyone I know has been talking about it! They just released their list of 100 best books but selected by readers, and I’ve read many more books on that list than the original one! I’m up to 26, with at least another 10 or so that I’ve been meaning to read.

Mesh Bag

J. Crew just released their latest collaboration, and I really love this mesh mini bag! I know I might not be super practical, but I love a fun little bag, and this is exactly that – great for the rest of summer.

The Rebranding of Abercrombie

As someone who grew up in the 1990s/2000s, where Abercrombie & Fitch had a heavy heavy presence, it’s been wild to watch them recently! They seem to have done a complete turnaround and rebranding – this article was a really fascinating look into what happened.

On Cancer and Style

I only subscribe to a few Substacks right now, but Elizabeth Holmes’ So Many Thoughts is one of them. I really loved this recent guest essay she published by Miranda Featherstone about the intersection of being sick and style – about how fashion can feel like armor, but also about the ableism underneath. Highly recommend reading this one.
