Happy Friday! We’ve had a few days of fall-like weather this week, and I was actually able to appreciate it because I know that the warmer weather is coming back again. This week has both flown and felt very long at the same time – I think mostly because I’m still finding it hard to believe that August is almost over! I have a fun weekend planned, though – on Saturday I’m speaking at a Disability Pride Pittsburgh event! The rest of the weekend will (hopefully) be spent soaking up the late-summer sun.
On to this week’s favorites!

DNC Roll Call Playlist (Gift Link)
I’ve been watching the live coverage of the DNC over the last few days – I’m actually watching it right now while I write this! It’s been so inspiring and honestly, fun to watch. If you didn’t get the chance to watch the Roll Call, you should! This article lists the song that each state chose to have played, and it’s a great list.
Smocked Floral Blouse
I love the vibrant colors and print of this gauzey blouse from J.Crew with a smocked neckline! It’s such a great statement blouse that could work with jeans or a pencil skirt alike.
Claire Makes Cosmic Brownies
I love watching Claire Saffitz’s videos where she tries to re-create different desserts, but I think that this one might be my favorite. Cosmic brownies are one of my favorite nostalgic snacks – I had one for lunch in high school almost every day! Claire always manages to make her version look so picture perfect, I’m so impressed.
Neurodivergence and the DNC
It’s really, really cool to see the discussion of disability and neurodivergence happening after Gus Walz, Governor Walz’s son, appeared at the DNC. Watching Governor Walz being so openly accepting of his son is really powerful – it should be the baseline, but is rarely seen on such a big stage. It makes me hopeful for more discussions of disability, and for stronger disability policies in my future.
