I have been a purse person for my whole life – I remember choosing between cute little purses back when I shopped at Claire’s in elementary and middle school. Now my taste has grown up a bit, but I still really love a fun handbag. They add just a little whimsy to an outfit, and they can make such a statement! I try to toe the line between whimsical and still wearable – keeping them from being too kitschy or childish. All of these fun handbags fit that perfectly in my opinion!

Leaf Bag: I love the green of this bag, and the fun palm leaf shape. At the same time, though, it’s still totally functional, with straps and enough space to fit the necessities. It’s so perfect for summer!
Fringe Clutch: This is a little more subtle than a palm leaf, but I love the contradiction between the geometric metal handle and the fringey, feathery, flowy bottom. It would be great for a slightly fancier event where you still want to add a fun detail.
Flower Bag: Kate Spade always makes such cute, different handbags! I love that the whole front of this one is a big flower – it makes such a statement! And it actually has a crossbody strap, too, so you can wear it multiple ways.
Feathers Bag: This is a great option from J.Crew that’s a little bit subtle but still fun. I love the shape of the bag, and the feathers that seem to just cascade down it. And because it’s a neutral black, it’s so versatile and would work with so many different outfits.
Beaded Bag: I think cool textures is one of the best part of fun handbags, and this one does not disappoint. The beads make it seem almost like an arts and crafts project… but like a super upscale one! And I love the bright green color, too.
Turtle Bag: I just think this is so cute. I love animal shapes in bags, and a woven straw turtle?! Adorable. This would be perfect for a pool party or something like a beachy wedding!
Crystal Heart Bag: This is the bag that started my recent obsession! I love the contradiction between the crystals of the bag and the semi-anatomical shape of the heart itself. It’s both pretty and slightly weird at the same time, and that’s my favorite style!
Scarf Bag: This is another more subtle option, but it’s still fun! The pinks and reds are such a bright, bold pop of color, and I love that it’s fashioned to look like a scarf that’s wrapped into the shape of a clutch.
Heart Bag: This is another bag with a fun texture! I love the shiny plastic and the marbled, almost malachite-esque green of this heart shaped bag. This is a classic statement bag that’s fun, but would work with so many different looks.
Book Bag: This is a great way to add a fun bag into your everyday wardrobe – it’s casual enough that it doesn’t look overdone for daily wear. I have an Anne of Green Gables version that I love, actually! There are tons of different book titles to choose from – but Rebecca is such a classic.
