Friday Favorites

What a week! I don’t share a ton about my work here, but we had a huge conference this week that we’ve been planning for over a year at this point! It is both surreal and an incredible relief that it’s over, honestly. It’s the kind of thing that feels so far away when you start working on it, and then comes along so quickly that you can’t quite believe it’s actually here. It has been going really well, and it’s always so exciting when I get to combine my personal life in disability and advocacy with my professional life in caregiving research. I feel so lucky!

On to this week’s favorites.

J.Crew October Collection

J.Crew has some new fall releases out right now, and they are good. So many cozy sweaters and so much soft cashmere! I especially love this oversized brushed cashmere sweater, this poncho, and this cable knit brushed cashmere sweater. I’m really into the brushed cashmere, if you couldn’t tell!

Cathy Horn on Personal Style

I love this long, insightful musing of an article from Cathy Horn on her personal style over the years. I think it’s so interesting how our own style shifts over the years – how we get into and out of clothing ruts, how our lives impact the clothes we reach for, and what makes us feel most like us. Definitely give this one a read!

Freaks and Geeks is one of my all-time favorite TV shows, and I wish it hadn’t been cancelled as quickly as it was. I don’t know exactly what it is that makes me love it so much, but it just feels like it really captures a moment in time, and that feeling on being the precipice of growing up, perfectly. I loved reading this article about it’s 25th anniversary (how?!) and learning about how the show came to be.

ChappyWrap Shawls are Back

My love of ChappyWrap blankets is no secret, but I also love their shawls – a slightly more lightweight and more wearable take on their blankets! They’re just as soft and cozy, but easier to wrap yourself in – and totally perfect for fall. They’re back for the season, so grab one while you can!
