I have really been leaning in to easy-to-apply and easy-to-wear makeup products lately. And in this vein, I feel like I’m about a year late, but I finally have tried the Rhode makeup products, and they’re perfect for this! Easy to put on, looks polished and effortless, wears well all day. I haven’t tried their skincare (yet), but I have been using the cream blush and the lip peptides for a few months now, and have been impressed with both!

Pocket Blush

This is the product that I was most excited to try! I have been all about liquid and cream blushes this year – I just find that they look and feel pretty effortless, like a natural flush. I had also seen a ton of videos going around of the shade Toasted Teddy, which is this really pretty terracottary shade that is also pretty unique. I finally decided to try it out at the end of summer – it felt like end of summer / going into fall was the perfect time to try out a slightly more bronzey look.

It’s such a great shade! It kind of made me think of a bronzer / blush combo, and was super forgiving. It adds just the right amount of color and warmth without being too harsh. I also picked up Sleepy Girl, which I love for fall too – it’s a nice rosy, mauvey color that feels nice and warm, like a natural flush after being outside in the chilly fall air.

And the formula itself is really amazing. It’s nice and creamy when you apply it – I just put a few small dashes on the apples of my cheeks moving upwards. I use a brush to blend because it’s easiest for me, but you could definitely use your fingertips instead if that’s your preference. It blends out so easily, and settles in to a really nice, natural looking blush. And the best part is how long it lasts! I have pretty oily skin, so I get worried about cream-based products, but I can still see this on my cheeks at the end of the day.

The only downside for me is that I can’t open the blush myself because of how sleek the packaging is. Not a dealbreaker for me, but something to note.

Peptide Lip Tint

I have a sliiiiight obsessed with tinted lip glosses. I have quite a few, but I’m always looking for more to add to my collection. When I ordered the pocket blush, I decided to throw in a few of the peptide lip tints to try, too – I have Raspberry Jelly, Toast, and a limited time one called Guava Spritz. I like to keep one nearby at all times! They’re a really great tinted gloss – it feels nice and moisturizing, but not sticky. It adds just a light wash of color and some nice shine, so you don’t have to worry about it as it wears off. And you don’t need a mirror to apply, which is what I always look for!

I especially love how moisturizing the gloss is, especially as we go into fall and winter. My lips are already starting to feel dry, and I know it’s only about to get worse. This sinks into my lips really nicely, I feel like it’ll help keep them from getting too chapped. I can definitely see myself picking up another gloss or two to make sure that I have one in every bag!
