It’s funny, because I remember writing in last month’s post that things would be slowing down this month… and that absolutely did not happen! I’m not complaining, it was absolutely a good kind of busy, but it was also a lot. Maybe this will actually be the month where things slow down? I guess I’ll find out! Here’s everything that I’ve been up to over the last month.

It’s a bit strange still to post election-related pictures, but I couldn’t not include this! I had the incredible honor to hear Dr. Jill Biden speak last month while on the campaign trail. It was an opportunity I’ll never, ever forget – she was smart, and funny, and so polished. I was in awe!

I already shared my Halloween pictures of me as Feyre, but you couldn’t see this fun cheek tattoo in the picture! These are Fazit – the glitter freckles that Taylor Swift wore to one of the Chiefs games – and honestly, they’re so much fun. They’re a little challenging to apply, but totally worth the effort. And they removed super easily with micellar water. I’m already trying to figure out where I can wear them again…

I took this picture because I couldn’t believe that it was the end of October and still warm enough to sit and work outside. It’s know it means bad things for the climate, but in the moment, I did enjoy it.

I (finally!) got a haircut! It had been over a year since my last haircut, so it was definitely time. I love the new length – it feels so much lighter, and is so much quicker and easier to dry, too. There’s really nothing like a post-salon blowout – I know it will never look this good again, so I had to make sure I captured it.

I saw & Juliet while the tour stopped here in Pittsburgh! I didn’t know much about the show other than it would be filled with all the Max Martin-produced songs of my childhood, and wow, it did not disappoint. I’ve never had to stop myself from singing along with a musical as often as I did during this one! It was just so much fun, and I loved the narrative of taking control of your own story. Plus, I finally got the chance to wear this fun dress that’s been hanging out in my closet.

Again, still bittersweet to post this, but I had to include it. I was invited to attend Kamala’s rally here in Pittsburgh, and it was an incredible, surreal experience. So many thousands of people gathered to celebrate and cheer her candidacy. Even though the election didn’t go as I’d hoped, it was magical to be part of this crowd. It was a challenging night, accessibility-wise – I was there for about 5 hours or so and it was outside on really uneven terrain – but it was still worth it, and I’d do it all over again.

I came downstairs the other day to see Nala napping in front of our little gas fireplace. I too like to warm up in front of it, so I get it, and it was a very cute scene.

One more really cool opportunity I had this month! It’s the last one, I promise. On Friday, I got to be part of a very small private tour at The Andy Warhol Museum, where Donald Warhol (Andy Warhol’s nephew) led us on an hour-and-a-half guided tour of the current exhibits at the museum. He shared a lot of stories about “Uncle Andy,” and even brought out some clippings from his own personal collection. It was really, really incredible and I learned so much!

I ended my weekend with some delicious salmon chirashi takeout from Mola, my favorite sushi restaurant. It’s so good that I’d happily eat it daily, but I have to stop myself and limit it to weekly at most. It was the perfect way to end a nice, slow weekend spent at home recovering from my flu shot.
