December 2024 Favorites

Before I get into some 2024 wrap-up posts, I want to finish out my December posts. Truthfully, the month was nothing like I imagined it would be – getting Covid around Christmas really threw a wrench into all my plans and expectations, and I spent a lot more time at home than I thought I would! December also feels like it was a loooong time ago, so writing this felt particularly difficult. But with all of that in mind, here are my December favorites.

Chalet Hotel Lobby Candle

I love candles year round, but a candle when it’s cold and snowy out? It’s just perfect. This Chalet one from Hotel Lobby is wintry and seasonal without being too much holiday-centric and smelling like a Christmas tree. As a bonus, it’s on sale right now since the season is ending – it’s definitely a winter candle in my opinion, so it’s not too late!

Brushed Cashmere Sweater

When I did wear real clothes around the holidays (which didn’t happen that much, honestly), I wore this brushed cashmere sweater that I picked up from J. Crew’s Black Friday sale. It’s so incredibly soft and cozy – I really love the brushed, fuzzy texture. This one is pretty much sold out, but this one is very similar, is on sale, and has a fun collar.

Wicked at Home

The highlight of my New Years Eve was being able to buy and watch Wicked at home. I’ve already watched it a few times since, actually! I’m really glad I got to watch it in the theater, but I’m equally glad I can now watch it at home whenever I want.

New York Perfume

I have been begging Hotel Lobby to turn their New York candle scent into a perfume… and they did!! Obviously, I’m not actually taking credit for this, but I am extremely excited about it. I’ve only had the chance to try it out twice, but so far, I really like it… it’s sophisticated, and it captures the candle scent while changing just enough to make it work in perfume form.

Afrin Spray

I know, I know – a weird addition to my monthly favorites. But it really was one of my favorite things from December!! I had pretty severe congestion, and this stuff let me actually breathe through my nose at night so I could get some sleep. I’m always sad when my three days of use run out, but too afraid of rebound congestion to risk using it longer. It’s amazing while it lasts!

Oura Ring

This was in my November list too, but I was so appreciative to have it during Covid. I used it to make sure my oxygen sats were keeping up overnight while I was asleep, and also used the “symptom tracker” function to make sure I was trending in the right direction and not getting worse. Obviously, I wasn’t making health decisions based on the ring alone, but having the extra data was really useful!
