Friday Favorites

This week – and this month, honestly – have both felt extremely long. The year definitely didn’t start out as I expected it to, and I’m still kind of playing catch-up and trying to get back into the swing of things. It’s been tough! Slowly but surely, though, I’m getting back into a feeling of somewhat normalcy. Maybe I’ll treat February 1 as my own personal New Year’s this year and pretend like all of January was still 2024! All this being said, I’m very much looking forward to the weekend and having a little more time to decompress.

On to this week’s favorites!

Helping People Affected by the California Wildfires

The pictures and videos of the devastation that the California wildfires have been causing are just so, so tragic. It’s hard to even fathom the sheer destruction that’s been caused, and what it would be like to just lose everything. This article has a lot of information about different resources and ways that you can help. And I always thing about disabled people in times like these – it’s so much more difficult to evacuate when you have a disability. This Instagram post has some important resources for people with disabilities.

Hill House Pre-Spring

Hill House dropped their pre-spring collection on Thursday! I am not always a huge pink person, but I actually love the new pink floral print, especially in this version with the tie-ribbon straps. This eyelet Ellie in a bold red is such a fun pop of color, and the pale green seersucker in this short sleeved dress looks so cute.

“She is in Love with ChatGPT”

This article from The New York Times about a woman who is in love with her digital boyfriend who she created through ChatGPT is an incredibly interesting read. It’s so fascinating to read about how advanced the AI behind ChatGPT is, and how she knows that her boyfriend isn’t “real,” but turns to him for advice and comfort anyway. I’ll be thinking about this for a while.

Black Cherry Balm Dotcom

You can never really have enough lip balms, especially in winter – it has been absolutely frigid here, and even though I’m spending most of my time inside, I can still feel my lips getting dry! I picked up my first Balm Dotcom from Glossier in their new Black Cherry version – I love the scent and the subtle tint.
