February’s favorites are heavy on beauty and skincare – I’ve been trying to cut back on impulsive clothes purchases, and it’s been (somewhat) successful. The things that I have picked up I’ve been reaching for a lot, so I feel like they’re good investments! Here are my favorites from last month.

Tilt Tinted Lip Balm
I did a whole review on the new accessible beauty company Tilt Beauty last week, and their tinted lip balm was definitely a favorite from last month. I got the shade Sunday Brunch – a sheer, coral poppy color – and it’s such a great shade. A nice, subtle tint that can still be applied without needing to use a mirror. It feels super moisturizing on, and it’s slightly shiny, but not too sticky or glossy at all.
iPad Stand
It took a while for me to find an iPad stand that worked for me! The first one I had tipped over at certain angles because the iPad (mini!) was too heavy, and it didn’t have enough adjustability to be able to get to all of the angles I need. This one, though, is super adjustable in every angle possible, is sturdy enough to hold up my iPad, and works both when I’m reading in my chair and in bed!
Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso
I’ve really figured out my espresso machine now (finally!), to the point where I haven’t gone to Starbucks in weeks because I actually prefer my at-home drinks. The key for me was ristretto shots rather than espresso, and finding an espresso bean that I really like. I’ve been getting a bag of this Black Cat espresso from Intelligentsia auto delivered each week, and it’s been so great (and I never run out of beans!).
Clinique Black Honey Lip Oil
I just love all the Black Honey products that Clinique makes – when I realized they had a lip oil version, I knew I had to try it! It starts out pretty bold on your lips, but it dries down to a really subtle tint. It also has a really nice and moisturizing but not too sticky finish! I’m a fan.
Kitsch Puffy Headband
I know that I’m years late to this trend, but I finally picked up one of these headbands to wear while I’m doing my skincare and makeup. It’s big enough that it doesn’t dig in behind my ears (a rarity!) and it keeps my hair off my face, which is all I’m looking for.
Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young
Out on a Limb just has my whole heart! I went into more detail in my Substack, but it was such a special book for me in the way that it modeled dating and relationships while disabled. It was nuanced and felt real, and I loved that the struggles about disability were all internal ones, and how the disability felt normal within the context of the book. I just loved it.
Fuzzy Red Sweater
This sweater is one of my clothing purchases from last month that I’ve already found myself reaching for multiple times. I’m always looking for tops that are comfy but also help me look put together on camera, and this is a hit. The fuzzy texture is so, so soft and comfortable, and the vibrant red is such a fun pop of color.
Calm the Red Down Serum
I think I have mild rosacea, so I’m always looking for products that help me deal with redness. This Calm the Red Down serum is genius – it has two parts, a serum with azelaic acid to help combat redness long term, and then a green tinted cream that turns beigey on my skin to counteract redness. I apply the serum half every morning, and then put on the tinted cream over sunscreen on days I’m not wearing makeup just to even everything out.
