Dress Up Edit

I keep seeing so many cute dresses right now – ones that I’d wear to a wedding, or a gala, or fundraiser of some sort. I don’t have any of that on my calendar right now, but maybe you do! So I thought I’d round up some of the ones I can’t stop going back to and looking at, in case you’re doing some fancy dress shopping of your own.

Red Flower Midi // Yellow Clutch // Blue Maxi // Floral Applique Mini

Pink and Green Floral // Pleated Floral // Purple and Green Keyhole

Metallic Clutch // Pearl Bag

I haven’t always been the biggest fan of florals, but what I’ve realized is that I like florals when they have something unique to them. Like this pink and green dress with ribbon straps – the fabric is the prettiest lace-like embroidery, so delicate and stunning! And this purple and green dress is so stunning – it’s handmade in Nigeria, and I love how the floral print are almost leafy vines.

My very favorite floral prints are ones that are less prints, and more of a literal interpretation. Like this red Farm Rio dress that has a giant flower applique on the bodice! And this mini dress takes it a step further, with lots of flower appliques. I love the fun and whimsy they add to the dress, while still being appropriate for a nicer event.

I also love this butterfly print pleated dress – the shape is so great and flowy, and the black stripes from the pleats add an interesting detail, too. And if you’re not a print person, I love this one shoulder chiffon column dress! You could add a bit of fun with a clutch, or keep it more classic if that’s more your style.

Speaking of clutches – we can’t forget accessories! I love this yellow and orange marbled clutch – it almost gives me sunrise/sunset vibes. This pleated metallic clutch would go with almost anything, as would this more affordable one from Madewell. And if you’re like me and like a statement accessory, you can’t go wrong with this faux pearl mini bag!
