I’m so glad it’s a long weekend – I’m really, really looking forward to a day off! It’s looking like a low-key one for me, which is exactly what I need. The weather is looking kind of overcast for much of it, so I’m hoping for time spent reading and sipping coffee, and sleep (and maybe a hummingbird sighting or two)! I’ve been getting some extra sleep this week and it’s really helped me to feel better, which always kind of annoys me but is also the reminder that I need to work harder at prioritizing it. I feel like I’m constantly caught between knowing how important sleep is to me and yet wanting to squeeze in as much as I can every day, no matter what. There’s a reason Republicans want to hide what’s in their newly passed megabill

I know I keep including this, but this is such a massive, huge deal, and things are moving so quickly and so covertly at the same time, it’s really terrifying. The cuts to Medicaid are going to be so devastating, and while it feels kind of hopeless to keep going on and on about it, it also feels like it’s the one thing I can do. So I want to encourage – beg! – all of you to keep being loud about this, too.

Tiffany Budzisz Art

I found a new-to-me local artist this week while browsing, and I’m just obsessed with her work! She works in hand-cut paper sculptures, and I especially love her works with the human body and nature – they’re incredible. I really love these pieces in her botanical series!

Kids of Reality TV Stars

Teen Vogue never fails to impress me with their reporting, and I found this article really fascinating. I love reality tv, and sometimes to half-forget that these are real-life people, not characters! And of course, it’s even trickier when it’s kids on screen, who don’t necessarily understand the long-term consequences of their words and actions. I thought it was really interesting that the kids all said they’d do it over again, too.
