This was a big week for me – I got a haircut for the first time in (I think!) a year and a half! It’s been on my list for quite a while now, but it’s been hard to find a place less than 30 minutes away that was accessible for me. I like to stay in my chair while I get my hair washed, and more and more places have chairs that aren’t removable from the sinks at the hair-washing station… which makes it impossible for me. But after some Facebook searching in our neighborhood group, I found Just in Kace salon, who were less than a 15 minute drive, and so flexible and willing to work with me to make it all happen. I feel so much better (physically and mentally) – it was so long overdue.

The Summer I Turned Pretty The Movie

I’m not mad that we’re getting more TSITP! I do hope the movie is the real end – I like when shows end on a high, rather than dragging it out for way too long, but in this case I do think it feels like there’s more story left to tell. I’ve really enjoyed how Jenny Han has taken the books and adapted and expanded them for the screen, so I’m very hopeful for the movie.

BÉIS Fall Collection

BÉIS dropped their fall collection this week, and I’m loving the deep jewel tones. They finally are back with their essential toiletry bag in some more colors, and this thing is GOOD. I used it for every trip I went on this summer, and I’m amazed by how much it fits – plus, I love that it fully unzips and sits flat so it’s easy to access everything. And I just really love this mini backpack… all the things I loved from the early 2000s are back!!

Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension

I don’t even know what else to say about this… but it’s bad! We shouldn’t be censoring late night talk show hosts, and neither the FCC nor the president should be making threats about punishing talk show hosts for not speaking favorably about the current administration. This article explains why it’s a bad precedent to be setting.

Sardine Hair Clips

Never thought I’d be saying “oh, these sardine fish clips are SO cute,” but here we are! I am obsessed with these Fishwife collab iridescent hair clips. I have a lot of hair, and I appreciate that these aren’t tiny – you’d actually be able to see them in my hair (and they’d actually hold it, too). They’re so fun and whimsical!

Inside the Tent on GBBO

I love watching The Great British Bake-Off – it’s one of the rare reality shows that truly feels cozy, and like the contestants are all really rooting for each other even though they’re obviously in competition with each other, too. This piece was a really fun, in-depth behind-the-scenes look into the show. It makes me even more excited to watch a new episode today!
