The last Friday of September is here! This month went really quickly for me - it feels like Labor Day just was here, and now we're already at the end of the month. I took off from work Thursday and Friday this week, and got my new COVID vaccine (yay!), so it was a shorter work week for me. I'm also going to see Moulin Rouge tomorrow night at the Benedum, which I'm so excited for - I've heard it's amazing! I really love a weekend that involves the theater.
Happy Friday! This was one of those weeks where I just don't have much to say - just a normal week spent working and enjoying time outside while I still can. I'm trying hard to get a little more control over my life - getting a little more ahead on blog posts and ideas, getting better at going to bed on time, and just feeling a little less scattered and a little more organized overall. Kind of like that "back to school" energy, but for my entire life! So I'm hoping that I can spend some time this weekend just getting organized, physically and mentally.
I'm so excited, because I'm finally going to watch the Barbie movie tonight! I feel like I've been waiting so long for it to come to streaming, and it's finally here. Other than that, I have an extremely low key weekend planned. Last weekend I went to the Family House Polo Match (SO much fun!) and had a few people over for a Barbie themed bonfire (after they pushed the streaming date back a weekend and I had to pivot from my patio movie plans) with the most delicious Milkbar red velvet cake with cheesecake icing. It was all very fun but also tiring! So this weekend will be much more chill.
I took today off work as a birthday treat to myself, so my weekend started a little bit early. This week has been a bit of a roller coaster for me - we had to say goodbye to our cat Simba on Monday, but I also celebrated by 35th birthday yesterday. So it's just kind of been a lot, and a real mix of happy and sad. I'm just trying to focus on taking it one day at a time right now.
This week has been... a lot. I know it sounds like I'm hinting at things and not sharing, but it was one of those weeks where so many small things happened one after the other, and they just kept adding up! I am extremely glad that this is a long weekend, and I'm very much looking forward to the extra day off to just try to recover a little bit... both my sanity, and my sleep. But - even with everything going on, I did manage to squeeze a little bit of fun into this week - which I'll share about in the favorites!
I was pretty convinced that it was Friday on Thursday this week, if that gives you any indication of my week! It really wasn't that bad, just one of those weeks that felt like it dragged a little bit. Which is good, in a way, since I'm still in disbelief that it's actually the end of August. But I've been trying to soak in the slowness where I can, and try really hard not to rush things. Patience is not my strong suit, but I'm trying.
This week has felt both long and short at the same time. I think it's because it's already mid-August, and feels like time in flying. Every time I go outside I'm reminded that fall is just around the corner - I can hear the crickets so loudly when I'm on my patio! I've said this before, but I'm really not ready - I'm trying to get in every second of outside time that I can.
Happy Friday! This week has felt both extremely long and extremely short at the same time - I always feel a little bit frazzled after coming back from a trip. I'm definitely looking forward to being home for a bit and not having any more travel in my immediate future - I love traveling, but it's also exhausting sometimes. Anyway - on to this week's favorites!
Happy Friday! Today is not only Friday, but also my dad's birthday - so it's an extra special Friday around these parts. This week has actually been super busy for me, and I've barely been online - so this week's favorites post is a little bit shorter than usual. It should be back to normal next week. On to the few favorites I do have.
Happy Friday! This week was, thankfully, pretty normal - I did go to an outdoor screening of the movie musical Best Summer Ever to celebrate Disability Pride Month, which was super fun. I have a low-key weekend planned and that's exactly how I want it. On to the favorites!
