This week has felt like a bit of a whirlwind. Between work, and the blog, and other things that I'm working on, it's been a very busy week, and next week looks like it'll be much of the same. I'm hoping I can split the weekend between taking some time to relax and being able to use the time to get some work done.
I usually try to share a little something about my week here, but I don't really think that I have much to share! This week has very much felt like the "same old." I guess this make's sense coming on the heels of yesterday's post about feeling overwhelmed. I know this will pass - just need to ride it out.
Wow - what a week it has been. I don't get sappy on here very often, but I have just been SO touched by the number of people who have followed along, supported, and engaged with me! It can be hard for me to know if I'm striking the right balance between disability content and style/beauty/lifestyle content - I genuinely enjoy writing about all of them. And the fact that everyone has been equally eager to hear more about accessibility as they are to know my favorite Nap Dress patterns just means so much to me. It makes me feel so seen, and I've basically been smiling non-stop all week. I really, really, really appreciate it.
On Friday I had the incredible honor of doing a takeover of Elizabeth Holmes' Instagram! I put up a Q&A box during part of it and got SO many good questions, and then put up another Q&A box on my own Instagram on Sunday because there just wasn't enough time to answer them all. I'm going to answer a few of them here in more detail - some that I already partially answered, and some that I didn't get it.
What a week! Happily, my issue with Evrysdi, the SMA medication I take, got resolved on Monday evening. I'm very happy to have it all straightened out, but feel like I've spent the week emotionally recovering from it. It's been so humid this week that I haven't even wanted to work outside that much, but it's cooled down a bit so I'm sitting on my new patio (!!) writing this right now.
After going nowhere for so long, it feels strange to be writing trip recap posts again - and honestly, felt strange to actually take the trip! I spent a week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at the end of June so I thought that I'd share a bit about my trip, and what it's like to travel right now, in my post today.
I'm actually writing this post a full week early, because right now I'm enjoying my much-needed vacation at Myrtle Beach! It was a lot of work getting a full week of posts up and ready to post ahead of time, but worth it to be able to fully unplug and not have to worry while I'm away.
I looked at the calendar this week and could NOT believe that it was mid-June. How did that happen?! After writing yesterday's post, I'm hoping to keep it pretty low-key this weekend. I am hoping for sleep, and reading in the sunshine, and maybe dinner on the grill on Sunday to celebrate Father's Day... nothing too busy.
I can't believe that it's already time to write another of these posts! When I decided to write them every month, I felt like there would be so much that would happen in between posts... and now it feels like it was just last week that I was writing the first.
