I am basically hibernating right now. Between the frigid temperatures and the piles and piles of snow that still cover the sidewalks and curb cuts everywhere, it’s much easier and nicer to just stay inside. I do worry that I’m going to start to feel a little bit stir crazy soon, so I’m going to try to lean into my favorite tricks to make staying at home feel like an event. Light a nice candle, maybe order in a nice meal… and then, inevitably press play again on Heated Rivalry because I am who I am. On to the favorites of the week!

Luna Daily at Ulta
Luna Daily’s Spray-to-Wipe has been life changing for me. I’ve been extra exhausted lately, and sometimes I just physically cannot shower. Being able to spray this on and then wipe it off all from the comfort of my bed or wheelchair is a great way to feel clean and refreshed. And even if you aren’t disabled and don’t struggle with showering, it’s so great to have for on-the-go or travel needs! They’re now available at Ulta, so they’re easier to purchase than ever before!
Volunteer Snow Removal of Pittsburgh Sidewalks
I mentioned that the sidewalks I’ve seen are still covered in snow, and the plows have pushed literal mounds of snow into the curb cuts when they cleared the streets after the storm. This isn’t just annoying – it actually is making it impossible for disabled people in the city to leave their houses. A local disability justice group has teamed up with volunteers, and are clearing sidewalks on a requested basis. If you’re disabled and need a path cleared, you can fill out this form so they’re alerted to it. I love that this exists, but am so disappointed that it has to.
Lore Fragrances
A friend mentioned this perfume brand, Lore, to me, so of course I started seeing it everywhere online. I love trying out new fragrances, and their scents sound so intriguing – smoky cocktailed citrus, spiced creamy wood – that I’m not sure I can resist! I’m thinking about picking up a mini sized set, so I have a chance to wear them all and decide if I have a favorite.
“How Jeff Bezos Broke The Washington Post“
With the rise of misinformation growing faster than ever, it’s really so important that we have unbiased media to cover news. That’s why the major cuts to The Washington Post are so problematic – this is a huge, storied paper that has traditionally done really important coverage. This piece is a great explainer into what happened, and why it matters.
