Feeding Tube Questions and Answers

On Friday, I shared two pictures on Instagram for Feeding Tube Awareness Week. I've posted about my feeding tube a few times, I think - I had it placed in 2013, so I've had it for quite a while now! I think it's super appropriate to post about on Valentine's Day, because deciding to have my feeding tube surgery was possibly my biggest act of self-love, ever.

2022 Word of the Year

I have never chosen a "word of the year" before, but I've been seeing more and more people post about it, and it intrigued me. The intent is to think about what you want your year ahead to look like, and to pick a word that encapsulates that, as a kind of guide for the coming year. It's like goals but a little more broad and vague - nothing specific or actionable, but just big picture thinking.

2022 Goals

I have never been one for resolutions for the new year. Part of this is that I hate failure, and making resolutions on January 1 for the rest of the year just feels like setting myself up to fail. Merry Christmas

I just wanted to pop in here quickly today and wish everyone who celebrates (an early) Merry Christmas. I know that the holidays might be looking a little bit different than you expected, but I hope that you're able to celebrate in some way with the people you love and care about.

Holidays This Year

I keep thinking back to how I felt this time last year - I was definitely a lot more isolated, but it also seemed like there was a glimmer of hope on the horizon. We'd just gotten the exciting news that the first vaccines were being authorized, and that the rollout was going to get started. It made it feel like it would only be one year of "missed" holidays.

Feeling Thankful

I figured there's no more appropriate time than Thanksgiving to share how grateful I'm feeling for all of you. This year (really, this year and a half plus) has been full of ups and downs, but it makes me so happy to know that I have this little corner of the Internet to share it all with. I'm so, so grateful for all of you and your support - sometimes it still blows my mind to think that people I've never met before come here to see what I have to say!

Another Taste of Normalcy

I know that a lot of my posts here and on Instagram seem kind of like "business as usual," but honestly, my life is still far from "back to normal." I have been able to go out more than before now that I'm vaccinated (and boosted!), but I know that I still have to be careful. I am really, really still avoiding crowds or places where people will be unmasked for long periods of time, because even a mild case of COVID could hospitalize me.
