Friday Favorites

We’ve had a stretch of really beautiful weather here in Pittsburgh this week, so I’ve been trying to get outside and read on the patio as much as I can while it’s still warm out. I finished Exit Lane in about a day (thanks to Netgalley and 831 Stories for my ARC – it’ll be out on Tuesday!) and really loved it; I’m consistently impressed by the short but packs a punch romances that 831 Stories is putting out! If you haven’t picked one up yet, you’re missing out. I’m now onto Moderation, which my friend Sophia recommended – she never misses, so I’m excited to get into it.

On to this week’s favorites.

I read this excerpt from Kamala Harris’s book 107 Days that’s coming out later this month, and wow, it’s good. It’s a really approachable way of writing… this excerpt, at least, didn’t feel like it got too in-the-weeds of the politicking. It’s also a lot more direct than I was expecting it to be! I’m really looking forward to reading the book when it comes out now.

J. Crew Fall Sale

J. Crew has 30% off most of the site through the weekend with the code SHOPFALL. There are a ton of great things included… this short-sleeved cardigan is great for layering, I really love this new print of their shirtdress with a cute ruffled hem, and these embellished suede flats are so fun!

Interview with Anna Wintour

This interview of Anna Wintour in The New Yorker about her moving on as the editor of Vogue was a really fascinating read. She seems to be more open and forthcoming than she has been in other interviews, though still a bit enigmatic about her time at the magazine. Definitely recommend reading this if you’ve followed her time at Vogue at all over the years!

Hill House Fall

Hill House dropped their fall collection this week! I love that they’re branching out and expanding their silhouettes a bit – their classic smocked dress still works the best for me, but more options are always better. I especially love this slinky dark moody floral print dress, and this super fun blue abstract patterned one.
