May and June have always felt like the most hopeful months to me! I think it’s because, even now, they remind me of the end of the school year – of that sense of endless possibilities that await you over the summer. I always feel especially grateful and hopeful this time of year – evening is looking pretty and green, the sun is back, and I know summer will be here soon. So I’m full of gratitude for so many little things this month – here’s a few of them.

Anthos Bakery & Café
I have been ordering from Anthos so much, and it never disappoints!! I have written about them before, I know, but I’m so glad they exist in the Pittsburgh suburbs and I want to make sure they stick around for a long, long while. They’re so kind, too – they always send a little surprise pastry with my UberEats order every time. Yesterday’s was a kouign amman that was so good!
Taking Time Off on the Weekends
Having a full time job and also trying to write blog posts five days a week while also keeping up with social media postings can be a lot. I was starting to feel a little burnt out, so I decided to really make it a priority to take time off on the weekends. Even if it means I need to be a little more efficient on Sundays or on weeknights, having Saturday to just relax has been really, really nice.
Hotel Lobby Candle Positano
The only reason I’ve been feeling a little bit burnt out is that I’ve been spending a lot of time at my house, and feeling a little bit trapped. My patio and backyard are amazing, but they’re still… my house. I know this will change soon with warmer weather, but in the meantime, sometimes a little change can make a big difference. For me right now, it means lighting my new Positano candle and imagining that I’m actually vacationing on an island somewhere!
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
I’m not a big gamer at all – typically, The Sims is about as gamer-y as I get. But when I got my Switch a few years ago, people told me to try playing Zelda, and I found out that I really love it! I have been waiting a while now for the new Zelda game to come out, and while I do wish it was released just a few months ago when I was spending all my time inside, I’m still very glad it’s here now. It’s fun to have a game to look forward to losing myself in for a few hours!
Buddy Reading Books
I’ve never been in a book club before – in person or virtual – and it’s been a while since I’ve read the same book at the same time as one of my friends (excluding ACOTAR). I forgot how nice it is to read a book at the same time as someone else and being able to talk about it, both while you’re reading and after! I also have been reading books different than I normally would in order to buddy read them, and I’m just so glad I found these book clubs and buddy reading friends.
