It feels like it’s been such a long time since I wrote last month’s Life Lately post, even though when I look through my camera roll, there’s nothing too wild, just a lot of little moments added up! Here’s everything going on behind-the-scenes of my life over the last month.

Every so often, I get in the mood for a meal and want to eat nothing else for about a week straight. Recently, that was the cream cheese brioche from Whole Foods, topped with the fancy salted butter. It’s the perfect mix of slightly sweet bread and salty butter, and it’s just so tasty.

I saw Kimberly Akimbo as part of the Broadway tour season here in Pittsburgh. I didn’t know much about it going into the show, just that it was something about someone who ages differently. It was a really different story than I expected, honestly – there were a lot of discussions about disability, and ableism, and about the stigma that being visibly different can carry. There were some parts where it veered a little bit inspirational, but on the whole, I think there were a lot of important messages shared on the stage.

It’s not spring full-time yet – I’m pretty sure I saw some snow flurries this week?? – but we have had days of sunshine and spring temperatures, and I needed them so, so badly. Being able to take my iPad and coffee outside and just spend some time reading is one of my favorite things to do, and it just makes such a difference in my mood when I’m able to get in even a few minutes.

Lily gets so jealous anytime anyone goes anywhere without her! Even if it’s just out on the front porch for a few minutes, she doesn’t want to be left. So this is her, waiting incredibly impatiently for me to come back inside. Not pictured is her barking at me until I acquiesced and gave her a treat when I did come back in.

I do not love the time change – I am more of a night owl than a morning person, and “losing” the hour of sleep makes me so sad and cranky every single time. BUT! I can admit that having sunlight after 7 PM is really, really nice. I took a picture so that I can try to remember that the next time I’m sad about the loss of my hour.

After I posted about them on Instagram (and in this blog post), Tilt Beauty generously sent me a box with the rest of their products. How cute are the furry hair clips?! I love the other two shades of the tinted balm, too. It is just so COOL to me that this brand exists – that they’re not accessible as an accident, but on purpose.

Sometimes, it’s so nice to have the chance to read a book that’s both new and nostalgic at the same time – for me, the new Hunger Games book, Sunrise on the Reaping, is exactly that. I’m still not super far into it, but it’s just nice to be back with familiar characters – and new ones, too! – but with a new story to read about. I also have been experimenting at Starbucks, and trying some new drinks, like the lavender cold foam iced matcha, which was surprisingly good! But of course, I had my macchiato on hand as well.

Lily here is just such a mood and made me laugh! She loves to climb up on pillows to find the comfiest place to take a nap, and the pillow above her head just really added to the vibe.
