I’m looking forward to an extremely low-key weekend – last weekend was a bit rough for me, so I’m hoping that this one is extremely chill. It’s feeling very much like fall outside right now, so I’m hoping for a little bit of time outside in the brisk air with a hot coffee. Doesn’t that sound so nice?? Simple pleasures for me all weekend long.
On to this week’s favorites!

Hotel Lobby Candle in Prosecco
I get so excited and intrigued every time Hotel Lobby drops a new candle scent! I think my first ever favorite candle that I can remember was from a brand called Rewined, so I’m very hopeful about a Prosecco-scented candle. It sounds like something that will be clean and classic… notes of fruits and jasmine and sandalwood all sound amazing together.
2025 National Book Award Finalists
Litfic has always been one of my favorite genres, but it can be harder to find recommendations for me – Booktok and Bookstagram are typically heavier on romance and fantasy (which I also love, don’t get me wrong!). That’s why I’m looking forward to reading the finalists for the 2025 National Book Award – it’s a perfect way to stay up-to-date with litfic books.
Hill House Party Collection
Hill House dropped their party collection this week, and wow, the dresses are stunning. I love the jeweled straps of this chic black mini, and the bows down the front of this brocade mini are such a great detail. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the classics, either – this brocade fabric looks great on the Ellie, and on the Matilda too for something a bit more formal.
ICE in Chicago
It feels wrong to let the week go by without at least mentioning the horrific situation happening right now in Chicago with ICE agents. So many atrocities are being committed, and there’s not nearly enough outrage. I don’t have answers or solutions, but it felt important to mention.
