This month’s Life Lately could pretty much be subtitled “Books, Coffee, and Candles.” Life has been slow – or, I guess, I’ve been forcing life to be slow. I have a decently busy November, so I tried very hard to keep October as chill as possible, and I pretty much succeeded! It doesn’t make for the most exciting post to read, but it is honest. And I don’t know… it feels kind of refreshing to romanticize the slow moments. I remember in college almost bragging about how busy I was, how little sleep I got. And now I cheer when my Oura tells me I hit my seven hour sleep goal. I think that’s growth? So here’s what my life has looked like behind the scenes.

October started out really unseasonably warm, and I took advantage! I spent as much time as possible reading outside on the patio, coffee in hand. I read My Cousin Rachel with a friend, and I know it’s an older book, but wow, it holds up! One of those moody, mysterious books where you’re never sure who is telling the truth, and the ending had me SHOCKED.

When the temperatures started dropping and the rain started happening, the reading was moved to inside. To help set the mood, I lit this Napa Valley candle, which really does have perfect fall vibes – sweet and deep and earthy at the same time.

This is just a silly little purchase that I couldn’t resist! A few friends online were showing off their bag charms, and I spotted this mini Starbucks cup… and immediately decided I must have it. When I realized it acted as a lid stopper?! I ran to Poshmark, and now it is mine! The best $6 I have spent in a long time. There are more still available on Poshmark (like this one!) if you love mini things like I do.

Nothing says fall to me like the pumpkin roll from Giant Eagle. For me, it must be from Giant Eagle… the other ones just taste wrong. I don’t make the rules! This has the perfect ratio of cake to delicious, delicious cream cheese filling.

Okay, I guess this also screams fall to me! Our neighbors have kids in high school, and they put up this little pergola as a photo shoot location before the Homecoming Dance. I just loved how it turned out – it really does look so perfect for the season.

I have been researching red light masks for a few months now, trying to figure out which would work best for me. When I saw that Therabody came out with the TheraFace Glo, a slightly more affordable version of their TheraFace mask, I was sold. I’ve only used it once so far, so it’s too early to share any results, but I’m very excited.
