Dermaflash Luxe+ Dermaplaner Review

I've really been focusing on my skincare in the last few years. Going to get facials done is a challenge for me, and Botox is out (injecting a neurotoxin into your face when you have a neuromuscular disease is a no no), so I really like to do the most that I can at home to take care of my skin and keep it looking its best. I've wanted to try dermaplaning at home for a while, but I was nervous! While I still have pretty good mobility in my hands, being able to reach my face while shaving it with a small, sharp blade made me a little bit antsy.

Tilt Beauty Review

When I see something that's specifically made to be both accessible and stylish, I have to try it out. Which is why when I came across Tilt Beauty on Instagram, I ran to their website to place an order! They were founded by a woman with psoriatic arthritis, who understands the frustration with finding accessible beauty products that you actually want to use. So far, I've tried their Grip Sticks and Lashscape, and can confirm they definitely fit both of those criteria easily. Tilt Beauty makes great, accessible products for anyone to use - disabled or not.

My Current Skincare Routine

It's been a bit since I shared an updated skincare routine, so now seemed like a good time! I feel like over the years, I've gotten better at simplifying my routine (... a bit, at least, I still like skincare!) and at adjusting a bit based on how my skin is doing and what season it is, too. So this is the routine that's working for me right now - but I'm really happy with it.

Vitamin C Serum for Sensitive Skin

I have tried quite a few Vitamin C serums over the years. I've even found a few that I really liked, for short term use! But after six months or so, none of them were really sustainable, because they either irritated or broke out my skin. Ascorbic acid, the most popular and effective form of Vitamin C, is also the most unstable and potentially irritating. I finally accepted that having a slightly more effective product wasn't worth it if I wasn't actually going to use in consistently! Luckily for me, there are now a few options for a gentler, less irritating form of Vitamin C. I've been using the C-Luma Hydrabright serum from Drunk Elephant since October now - the longest I've ever stuck with a Vitamin C serum - and I love it.

Things I’ve Bought Lately

I've indulged in a little bit of retail therapy lately! Sometimes when I'm stressed or overwhelmed, I online shop. There are probably better coping mechanisms, but I'm certain that there are worse ones, too. One of the most fun parts of buying new things is showing your friends what you bought. And since I consider you all my friends, I thought that I'd share here, too.

Rhode Review

I have really been leaning in to easy-to-apply and easy-to-wear makeup products lately. And in this vein, I feel like I'm about a year late, but I finally have tried the Rhode makeup products, and they're perfect for this! Easy to put on, looks polished and effortless, wears well all day. I haven't tried their skincare (yet), but I have been using the cream blush and the lip peptides for a few months now, and have been impressed with both!

My Favorite Vanilla Perfumes

The moment I smelled "Warm Vanilla Sugar" in a Bath & Body Works store 20 plus years ago, I was hooked. Ever since, I've always loved the warm, comforting smell of a vanilla-based fragrance. And vanilla scents are having a real moment right now, which is amazing for me! I've been slowly adding to my perfume collection, and have a few favorite vanilla ones I thought I'd share in case you're going through a similar phase.
